The South Beach Food & Wine Festival meets the Oscars

Oscar night in SoBe was celebrated in true Hollywood style as celebrity Chef Bobby Flay and actress Stephanie March hosted South Beach’s tribute to the 81st Annual Academy Awards. Benefiting the Miami Beach Film Society and Cinematheque, the Oscar party held at the Paris Theatre on the Beach was a true red carpet event and journeyPOD was there to join in the celebrations. Greeted with petit bottles of Moët & Chandon, drinking out of straws, we entered the Paris Theatre and Miami’s only official Oscar sanctioned party to watch the live telecast on large screens scattered around the theatre.

However, Hollywood wasn’t the only place to play host to star studded events. With Laura Jennings as the master of ceremonies, Chef Bobby Flay, actress Stephanie March, jazz singer Nicole Henry, Chef Anne Burrell and other celebrities mingling in the crowd, we were in for quite a night. Spoiled by Godiva Chocolates, which by the way were everywhere, we ate drank and celebrated like true stars as we watched the fabulous Oscar Awards as if we were really there.

Famed restaurateur Bobby Flay put on an incredible spread, the food was excellent, as was the company. A gathering of who’s who in Miami high society, we partied the night away in the company of some of the Food Networks best celebrity chefs and Oscar worthy celebrities. It was almost as good as being in Hollywood and a great way to wrap up the SoBe Food & Wine Festival.
