Newport Beachside Hotel and Resort – An All-In-One Hot Spot in Miami

If you want to stay right on the sand in Miami, but still have some privacy and tranquility – then head north of the hustle n’ bustle of South Beach to Newport Beachside Hotel & Resort.   Slower-paced than the pulsing SoBe, the area is easier to get around with a lot less traffic.  As its name implies – the hotel is situated right on the beach with stunning ocean view rooms and balconies. Both a family resort and a romantic getaway, guests can enjoy the luxury of large rooms and amazing hotel amenities. Sip on a Mai Tai at the hotel’s tiki bar or work on perfecting that tan at the pool and private beach! 

A short ride away from the hotel – fashion junkies head to Bal Harbour – the ultimate shopping mecca.  The Shops at Bal Harbour are super high-end – and offer up everything from David Yurman and Dolce & Gabana, Tiffany & Co and Gucci.  Considering the place has been voted as one of the top malls in the country – its definitely worth the trip!  

The highlight of the resort is Michael’s Kitchen, one of the best restaurants we have sampled.  The presentation of the food was so innovative – you almost didn’t want to bite into the work of art. Iron Chef judges would definitely be impressed! Some folk might assume that because the food looks so different and whimsical – that somehow the taste would come in second, but we can assure you that this is not the case.  Our favorites included the thin-crust pizza, which made for the perfect appetizer – light and crispy; the duck – simply cooked to perfection; and the star of the show, the Lollipop Veal Chop –  a gigantic portion bursting with delicious flavor. 

Finicky eater? Don’t fret!  The menu is so diverse, it’d be hard not to find something!  A fusion of New American, Mediterranean and Italian, Michael’s Kitchen truly has a dish for everyone.  Based on the art and flavor of Chef Michael Blum’s cuisine – it also no surprise that this culinary ninja has been influenced by the likes of Toulouse-Lautrec and Picasso!
