51st Annual Grammy Awards: Celebs, Gossip, Music & After Parties

The Show:

Besides the Chris Brown and Rihanna fiasco and no show – the 2009 Grammy’s was a night to remember! Coldplay brought home the award for “Best Rock Band” and “Best Song of the Year”! During the acceptance speech, singer Chris Martin added “We’re not the heaviest of rock bands, as you may have noticed. We’re more of a limestone kind of rock. A little softer, but just as charming”. Gwyneth Paltrow cheered on her man from the crowd!

Frenemies Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift (who both dated Nick Jonas) put their differences aside and collaborated on a duet – which wasn’t bad!

Stevie Wonder joined teen sensation, the Jonas Brothers on stage for “Superstition” (what a strange combination!).

Jennifer Hudson gave a teary performance, while the choir wore purple ribbons to signify and end to domestic violence.

Smokey Robinson joined the only remainding member of The Four Tops, Jamie Foxx and Ne-Yo for “Reach out” and “I can’t help myself”.

John Mayer wowed the crowd with some rhythm and blues and was accompanied by Keith Urban on stage. Jennifer Aniston was there to support her beau!

Carrie Underwood, dressed cute as a pixie, performed “Last Name” to the enthusiastic crowd!

Allison Kraus and Robert Plant took in 5 awards which included “Best Album of the Year”.

Justin Timberlake and Al Green showed some Pre-Valentines Day love with the classic “Lets stay together”. Boyz II Men and Keith Urban joined in the fun.

Lil Wayne took home a few Grammy’s and rapped with Kanye West and a very pregnant M.I.A. (that girl looked ready to pop!) to “Swagger like us”.

Brit Import Adele brought home her first Grammy for “Best Female Pop Vocal Performance” for her hit “Chasing Pavements”.

Whitney Houston made a guest appearance at the show, letting everyone know that she is doing fine.

Justin and T.I. closed the show with “Dead and Gone”.

The After Parties:

Scarlett Johansson and hubbie Ryan Reynolds joined Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel for the “Sex on Fire” Party. The couples laughed, danced and sang along to the Kings of Leon.

Nivea sponsored an after party at Island Def Jam and attracted the likes of Kanye West, Christina Milian, Ashanti  and Keysha Cole.

Kress Nightclub was the backdrop for Lupe Fiasco’s hosted soiree! Invited guests included Madonna, Pink, Kid Rock, Mariah Carey & Ne-Yo.
