Home Away From Home: Orlando’s Mona Lisa Suite Hotel

By: Lucie Hys

Working in the travel industry and staying at many different hotels around the world, I can tell you one thing – it is really hard to find a hotel that feels like home. Most of the time a hotel feels like a hotel and even though it is super nice, after couple days you are ready to leave. This is what’s so different about Mona Lisa Hotel – it feels very much like home given the size, privacy and structure of the rooms. Oversized bedroom, living room, fully equipped kitchen with dining area, balcony – all of this is for you to enjoy regardless of whether you booked one or two bedroom suite. What is also interesting and different about Mona Lisa hotel is that it is perfectly suited for both families and those in search for a quieter and private stay. Many hotels in Orlando are “either or”.  With all the theme parks around, whole Orlando sometimes resembles a playground that is hard to get away from. Mona Lisa hotel is very family-friendly yet very serene. The peaceful part may come as a surprise since the hotel is just few minutes away from most major theme parks (btw. the hotel operates quite a few free shuttles).

The swimming pool here is a true masterpiece! As you relax on the lounge chair in the middle of the pool and watch the palm trees above your head, you will feel like you are on the tropical island not at the hotel’s swimming pool. Unlike many other hotel pools, this one has warm (and super clean) water and entrance with gradual depth.

The trendy design and attention to detail is apparent throughout the whole Mona Lisa Hotel. The décor is modern and cheerful (absolutely loved the red accents). You will notice the theme of Da Vinci’s art masterpiece throughout the hotel – from huge wall painting by the front desk to room keys and “do not disturb” signs. Everything looks (and smells) new, which is no surprise considering that the hotel has been opened just for 3 years.

Coming to its biggest assets – the staff. It is great to see that a hotel when everyone greets you with a smile still exists! The staff at Mona Lisa was very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. The receptionists, pool attendant, restaurant staff, housekeepers – everyone was very polite and pleasant to deal with. For most people, the customer service and the quality of the rooms are of the biggest importance when choosing a place to stay. If you are one of those people, Mona Lisa is your kind of place. In fact, its caring staff and super big and modern rooms are what set this hotel apart from the rest.
