Christmas is celebrated with much enthusiasm in Berlin and this is the perfect place for a festive break. There are a number of amazing Christmas markets on offer in late November and December and combined with staying in a gorgeous Berlin boutique hotels these provide some great shopping experiences. If you are visiting Berlin with your kids then a trip to the Christmas market at the Alexa shopping center near Alexanderplatz is a must. As well as many great stalls there are also lots of fairground rides, candyfloss stalls and street performances to keep everyone entertained. This traditional market is located in the historic Opernpalais area by Unter den Linden (not far from the Brandenburg Gate). This is a great place for culture lovers as you will be surrounded by some impressive architecture such as the Humbolt University and Museuminsel. The market sells traditional items such as Christmas decorations, hand carved toys and gingerbread.
This is Berlin’s most popular Christmas market and is located in a prime shopping area complete with designer shops, galleries and excellent restaurants. If you want to explore this area and get lots of shopping done then it is a good idea to stay within walking distance. This hotel is a great place for visiting the nearby Christmas markets and shops and is family friendly.
